First Seminar

Three classes

class l / writing

The idea. The narrative device. The synopsis. The investigation. The open script. Author's script. The birth of an auteur documentary. Film the invisible facts. Discover the molecules, the dramatic atoms that exist in life. Learn to see. Learn to listen. Learn to form words and phrases with the loose letters that are in the air. Reality is a perception of the senses that is often in chaos. Define and search for the point of view.

Class 2 / filming
Film the time. Film the movement. Filming on a human scale. Find the people. The art of the interview. The positive energy of the planes and the negative energy of the illustrations. The passion, the subjectivity, the good distance. Review of each of the seven narrative agents with which a documentary is made.

Class 3 / mounting
The cut and the concepts of form. The assembler's point of view. When the plans have no life of their own. When the editor steals the film. When the force of life far exceeds the mount. Perspectives and limits of assembly. Detailed exposition of the five narrative resources of the montage.
